Janet Crump began practicing yoga in 1990, took extensive Yoga Teacher Training at Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health in Massachusetts, the largest yoga center in the country, and began teaching in 1998. After seven additional years of advanced yoga teacher training, in 2005 Janet was granted 500-hour advanced yoga teacher certification, enabling her to be registered at that level with the Yoga Alliance, an organization which establishes national standards for yoga teachers. Janet's classes are a blend of the physical and spiritual creating a safe, meditative atmosphere while emphasizing inner awareness and compassion. She encourages her students to increase their flexibility and strength as they reduce tension.

Janet has created Stillpoint Yoga classes, workshops, and retreats. She has lead yoga retreats in Costa Rice since 2003. Janet is currently building a yoga retreat center in Costa Rica. Janet leads workshops at Stillpoint Yoga and at The Yoga Studio. Janet has written articles on yoga for The Healing Garden Journal and Spirit Dreams Newsletter. Janet leads annual yoga and meditation retreats in Costa Rica.

Prior to becoming a full-time yoga teacher, Janet spent twenty-five years in the fundraising field, working for educational not-for-profit organizations and as a consultant. Her career started as a teacher of English. She is the wife of Michael Crump, the mother of four children, and has one granddaughter. Besides yoga, her interests are reading and traveling.
